ROLE OF GENRE APPROACH IN THE PROCESS OF THE PIANIST’S MUSICAL EDUCATION AND UPBRINGING

Abstract. The article justifies a pedagogical potential of the genre approach to forming pianists’ performing skills in the process of training at secondary special educational institutions. The genre approach is considered at the level of professional musical education where it is implemented through synthesis of theoretical knowledge and students’ auditory conceptions. By the example of M. Titz’s piano suites, the paper shows how students develop understanding of the genre features and implement them in performing through expressive means appropriate to the genre context.
