ON COMPILING AND IMPLEMENTING UNIFIED SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM IN TECHNICAL COLLEGES OF THE TATAR ASSR IN THE 1920S - AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 1930S

Abstract. The article examines the issues of compiling the unified Social Studies curriculum for technical colleges of the Tatar ASSR in the 1920s - at the beginning of the 1930s. Relying on archival materials, the author shows the role and importance of commissions on Social Studies while compiling programs, curricula, textbooks and organizing pedagogical process. The peculiarities of the programs and curricula developed in the Tatar ASSR are identified. To compare the level of teaching social disciplines, the author describes the experience of certain regions. Relying on inspection reports on technical colleges of the Tatar ASSR, the author concludes on the level of Social Studies learning, identifies positive and negative aspects. The accent is made on difficulties and controversies that arose while organizing pedagogical work in the national colleges.
