MYTH AND SIMULACRUM AS OPPOSITE CATEGORIES

Pankratova Aleksandra Vladimirovna

Submitted: 03.10.2018
Abstract. The article presents the comparative analysis of the categories "myth" and "simulacrum" in order to establish the difference in the ontological status of these notions. The relevance of the study is connected with the need for the correct use of the categories "myth" and "simulacrum" in understanding the phenomena of modern culture. The comparison is based on four aspects of the myth by A. F. Losev: personality, history, word, miracle, and is complemented by the fifth aspect - being. As a result, the author ascertains that the content of the notions "myth" and "simulacrum" is opposite: myth is a message about being, and simulacrum is a message about non-being.
Key words and phrases: миф, симулякр, симуляция, знак, субъект мифа, чудо, слово, сообщение, история, субъективное бытие, объективное небытие, myth, simulacrum, simulation, sign, subject of myth, miracle, word, message, history, subjective being, objective non-being
