PIANO PERFORMING ART IN THE ASPECT OF THEATRICALITY

Abstract. The article deals with the phenomenon of theatricality, which interacts actively with various artistic forms, including instrumental performance. The authors show that piano performance includes internal theatricality, associated with the artistic-imaginative focus of musical drama, and external one, conjugated with the plasticity of the performer’s stage existence. Understanding of piano performance in the aspect of theatricality contributes to deepening of the ideas about the specificity of performing art and the identification of its potential.
