Submitted: 14.08.2019
Abstract. The article reveals the correlation of the notions "virtual reality" and "virtual world" taking into account the existing technological level. Introduction of convergent technologies and virtualization of space promote a human being’s deeper involvement into the virtual world, which results in the formation of "virtual ecosystem" (nature 3.0). Potential risks when following the path of technological development are identified. The author concludes that the vector of civilization development is critically dangerous but not fatal for a future human being.
