Abstract. The article characterizes orchestral performance by the example of the Kyrgyz Orchestra of National Instruments named after Karamoldo Orozov. The author traces the formation and development of this famous ensemble, emphasizes the role of the Russian musicologists (A. V. Zataevich, V. S. Vinogradov), conductors and composers (P. F. Shubin, B. V. Feferman) who contributed greatly to the formation and development of the Kyrgyz professional musical art, in particular, the orchestral genre. The creative activity of the Kyrgyz conductors and composers is also mentioned.
