Abstract. In the article professional education problems in the early 20s of the XX th century are analyzed on the basis of Siberian workers and peasants’ inspection documents. By the example of Omsk Mechanical-Building Technical School entrance conditions the causes of specialized secondary schools incomplete staffing, the procedure of taking charge for education and its use, staff qualification and the level of material security are shown.
