Abstract.
The article examines how L. Buñuel in the film “The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie” and C. Nolan in the film “Inception” display the state of the crisis of modern capitalist society using the common artistic technique of combining dream and reality. Buñuel mostly denounces social institutions and the bourgeoisie as a social group, Nolan penetrates into the depths of the modern western man’s consciousness.
