ON FEATURES OF EXPRESSING QUANTITATIVE MEANINGS

Abstract. The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the linguistic expression of some quantitative meanings such as definite/indefinite/approximate, discrete/non-discrete quantity. The author is interested in the cases of the convergence and intersection of different subcategories of number in human mind, which is represented in language. The examples of the implicit expression of certain meanings, as well as the impact of context on the transfer of quantitative semantics are considered.
