STUDY OF THINGS AS INTERDISCIPLINARY PROBLEM OF MUSEOLOGICAL EDUCATION

Abstract.
The article discusses a number of relevant ideas and concepts connected with the task of understanding the history of material culture in the context of the problem of discovering and maintenance of material monuments as cultural heritage. The paper analyzes the specificity of “study of things” as one of conceptual models that represent an attempt of the systemic description and study of the material world of culture in domestic interdisciplinary discourse in the humanities. The result of the conducted analysis is the substantiation of the courses “The History of Material Culture” and “The Thing in the Context of Culture”, their succession in the framework of bachelors’ and masters’ study programs at the Department of Museology and Cultural Heritage of St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts.
