THE YUKAGIR FAIRY TALE ABOUT ARCTIC FOX AND OLD MAN SEMTENEY AND ITS PLOT ANALOGUES

Abstract.
The article presents the comparative analysis of the Yukagir fairy tale about arctic fox and old man Semteney in order to reveal its similarities and differences from similar stories of other peoples of Siberia and the Far East. As a result of the research the author finds out that the first plot unit of the above mentioned fairy tale has analogues in the fairy tale folklore of the Evenki, Nanai and Orochi. The second plot unit has analogues in the fairy tale folklore of the Evens, Yakuts, Nanai, Dolgans and Orochi. The third plot unit has no analogues in the submitted versions of the fairy tale folklore of the Evens, Evenki, Yakuts, Nanai, Orochi and Dolgans.
