Abstract.
The article considers the stages of the Mongolian statehood formation in the period of autonomy in 1915-1919. The position of tsarist Russia and China in relation to autonomous Mongolia is revealed. The whole complex of economic, military, diplomatic relations between Russia, Mongolia and China is analyzed in detail. Particular attention is paid to the internal political and geopolitical position of autonomous Mongolia, as well as to foreign policy pursued by the government of Bogd Khan Jebtsundamba Khutughtu in the struggle for independence and sovereignty.
