Abstract. The article examines the specifics of the principle of the typification of artistic character in the novel-myth by M. Bulkaty “The Seventh Campaign of Soslan Narty”, reveals genre peculiarities of the literary work. On the whole the paper studies the specifics of the formation of the Ossetian novel thought. For the first time in Ossetian literary criticism the authors analyze the specifics of novel-myth genre. The research aims to study the peculiarities of character formation in this piece of literature, to analyze the process of the transformation of the epical hero, the correlation of mythical and historical.
