Abstract.
The article analyzes the use of languages in the mass media of the Canadian province of Quebec. Mass media reflect the development of the society, in which they operate, its values and social relations. The system of mass media is one of the most important spheres of communication as it plays the central role in the process of the socialization of individuals and the nation, as a result of which the public identity of people is created. The role of the language of mass media is particularly important for the formation of the ethnic identity of individuals living in a multinational state.
