Abstract.
The article deals with the methods of the analysis of the traditional set of the Buryat costume as a creative source for designing clothes. Attention is focused on the selection of the individual elements of the Buryat national costume for designing contemporary collections in ethnic style. The results of the work with the creative source are shown. The authors conclude that as a result of designing the national costume should be transformed without losing its functionality and value.
