Abstract.
The article by the example of Ordzhonikidze town examines the problems of the food supply of provincial urban population in the 1950s - 1960s having occurred as a result of the unreasonable voluntaristic agriculture reform. The author concludes that the unsolved problems in the sphere of urban food supply for decades were a source of growing social tension, oppositional moods and became one of the factors of the Soviet system destruction.
