STYLE SINGULARITY OF N. P. BALAEV’S ARTISTIC-DOCUMENTARY TRAVEL STORIES

Abstract.
The article is devoted to some aspects of the artistic singularity of the reflection of the topic of Russian northeastern nature in travel stories by N. P. Balaev - one of the writers-naturalists of the 70-80s of the XX century, whose creativity is scarcely studied in contemporary literary criticism. The author considers the genre and stylistic specificity of the northern prose writer’s stories, the peculiarities of the reconstruction of the northern landscape in them, the portrayal of animal life and the reflection of the topic “Man and Nature” in these stories.
