JOURNALISTIC STYLE VOCABULARY FEATURES (BY THE MATERIAL OF BRITISH POLITICAL ARTICLES)

Abstract. The article deals with peculiarities of vocabulary in newspaper articles by the material of the English-language British press. The language of the press is varied stylistically and lexically, but political articles are often quite specific, they use a concrete layer of vocabulary and language clichés, therefore the study and analysis of political articles are relevant. The author highlights the main lexical features of the journalistic style. Examples of the use and functioning of emotionally colored vocabulary are given
