FREEDOM OF CHOICE AS A BASIS OF CREATIVITY IN PHILOSOPHY BY THOMAS AQUINAS

Abstract. The article considers creativity essence understanding by one of the most outstanding representatives of philosophy of the Middle Ages Thomas Aquinas. Ability to create is determined by dual nature of the human being combining both human proper and divine foundations. The phenomenon of creativity is directly associated with the concept of freedom, which is interpreted as a program of the personality’s development. This approach to creativity nature determining seems to be topical for contemporary philosophy as well.
