Abstract.
The article is devoted to the revelation of the financial welfare level of Transbaikalia Orthodox monasteries in the second half of the XIXth - the beginning of the XXth centuries. The cloisters capital volumes, their earnings and costs are characterized on the basis of the analysis of the materials from the State Archives of Trans-Baikal region, in some cases the costs are considered according to certain items. The attempt is undertaken to compare the financial position of all the monasteries of the region. The sources of funds receipt are characterized and their storing places are determined in all cloisters. The problems which the monasteries faced in connection with pressure for money and the ways of their solving are revealed.
