Abstract.
The article is devoted to the research of the social phenomenon of youth volunteering in Russia. The specified general problem comprises the whole range of the aspects elucidating the history of youth volunteering, the basic problems and development perspectives of such activity in Russia. The key problem is the peculiarities of volunteer organizations functioning in the USSR and the Russian Federation. Besides the author reflects the methods of the work of the international association Rotary International having Rotary Clubs all over the world.
