Abstract.
The author reveals the history of commercial educational institutions formation within Siberia, shows that their origin and development were caused by the needs of new economic and social life, pays special attention to the study of the experience of commercial educational system organization within Siberian territory, demonstrates that they represented ordinary educational institutions with seven- or eight-year course and took the position between non-classical secondary schools and grammar schools in Russian educational system and mentions that commercial institutions were among the most advanced types of secondary schools of their period.
