SOCIAL SPACE AS SOCIAL-PHILOSOPHICAL PROBLEM

Abstract.
The author discusses the topical problem of modern social-philosophical knowledge - social space and the questions of its study, considers the genesis of the ideas about social space in foreign and native traditions, recommends the principle of chronotope (time-space) as the most constructive methodological principle of social space research, mentions insufficient knowledge base of chronotope in respect to the problems of social-classical knowledge and its heuristic potential in the study of the problems associated with man and society, and comes to the conclusion about the prospects for the further study of social space problems in the context of chronotope.
