Abstract. The author analyzes the perception of British political culture in Russia in the second quarter of the XIXth century, and pays special attention to the fact that the modernization of the British parliamentary system of that period, which occurred within the framework of electoral right limited reform, demonstrated its ability to conservative renovation, which became popular in Russia as well.
