Abstract. The author considers Little Tragedies by Pushkin through the prism of opera libretto qualities, reveals their ability of musical embodiment without transforming into special opera text, analyzes the general regularities of theatrical dramaturgy, touches upon the contact points of opera and straight play as the stage genres with common sources, and comes to the conclusion about the reasons of unaltered authorial text (poetical or prose) use by composers.
