Abstract.
The author analyzes the influence of photography on the formation of visual-verbal relations between man and new media, tells that the beginning of the ХХth century changed not only the life-style of people, but also the personal perception and estimation of reality, through the prism of photography formation as the source of information presentation and coding traces the transformation of the aesthetic views, attitudes and culture of the Russian community at the turn of the XΙXth-XXth centuries. Optical media managed to combine picture and dynamics, image and word. The consideration of photography as the first optical media allows researching the problem of cinema and television formation, some characteristics of the accumulation of visual and verbal in them.
