READING AGAINST LEISURE CULTURAL PRACTICES DIVERSITY BACKGROUND

Abstract. The author reveals the status of reading in modern culture among such leisure cultural practices as watching television, computer games, entertainment, travel; and as a result of the research divides all leisure practices with respect to reading into competing, accompanying and supporting/supported ones, where reading is the dominant and most prestigious cultural practice.
