Abstract.
The author considers the problem of identifying the role and place of technical knowledge in the classification of sciences, presents the analysis of historical-philosophical and modern approaches to the description of the system of scientific knowledge, shows that in the history of philosophy two approaches to the understanding of technical knowledge formed: as applied knowledge that implements the ideas of basic sciences, and as a special kind of art, creativity; reveals the preconditions of technical sciences origin, the features of the classical, non-classical and post-non-classical stages of their development, analyzes the complexity of modern technical knowledge classification associated with the formation of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research directions, and considers the changes in the structure of technical knowledge in the context of sciences about artificial and converging technologies.
