CITY AS POLITICAL SPACE: ETYMOLOGY, PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS

Abstract.
The author considers the problematic of urban spaces and their symbolic and political aspects; analyzes the genesis of living and working spaces politicization and also the consequences of this politicization, both already existing and which are probable in future, studies, which aspects of individual and social being are influenced by such politicization, in which way this politicization transforms the fabric of social reality, which dispositions of immanent and transcendent it sets in relation to personality and society; and conducts this analysis basing on the texts of Michel Foucault (“The Eye of Power”) and Herbert Marcuse (“Eros and Civilization”).
