PAIN AND SUFFERING: PHILOSOPHICAL UNDERSTANDING

Abstract. Modern philosophy, researching the phenomena of human spirit, often uses the notions that are still traditionally regarded within the framework of natural sciences. These include “pain” and “suffering”. The author presents the philosophical understanding of suffering and pain as the attributive states of human life, and considers suffering and pain in existential sense, referring to the philosophical-ethical and scientific traditions of these phenomena researches.
