Abstract.
The author reveals the features of future merchant seamen’s practical training in the Russian Empire at the beginning of the XX th century, pays particular attention to the resolution of the question of navigation practice organization on training ships, considers the general regulations of practice program for students in training, and comes to the conclusion about the existence of the practical education system of maritime academies students in pre-revolutionary Russia.
