Abstract.
The author analyzes the phenomenon of solitude in the novel “The Stranger” by A. Camus, and pays special attention to the comparison of the reality of absurd and the absurd of reality, claiming that, after Caligula and Patrice, the protagonist of “The Stranger” not only follows the commandments of absurd, but comes to the same conclusions – “rebellion” against injustice, “freedom” in relation to the existing “general rules”, “passion” in love for human life.
