Abstract.
The author analyzes the results of studentship’s social well-being study in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, which allow determining not only the parameters that characterize the living standards of different groups among higher education establishments youth, but also revealing other indicators of social differentiation, proves that the self-assessment of students’ material living standard is inflated, estimates the respondents’ real financial possibilities as rather modest, tells that every second student has enough income to satisfy only physiological needs, and shows that the share of state aid for the social support of student youth is small, forcing nearly two-thirds of full-time students earn money for their existence.
