Abstract.
The authors analyze the procedural status of the supernumerary as other participant in criminal-procedural activity, reveal and substantiate the necessity of this participant’s procedural consolidation as an independent, full-fledged subject of criminal proceedings, basing on this study suggest supplementing Chapter 8 of the Criminal-Procedural Code with a norm providing the supernumerary’s legal status, give its definition, formulate the basic rights, duties and liability inherent to any participant of criminal process.
