Abstract. The author discusses the topical question of professional training system development for future industrial designers, analyzes the key stages in the formation and development of artistic-industrial education at Berlin School of Design, and mentions the appropriateness of using the scientific and pedagogical experience of one of the leading design higher education establishments in Germany, Berlin-Weissensee School of Art, as an additional argument in future industrial designers training and the modernization of the existing domestic model of design education.
