FREUD AND ROZANOV: PROBLEMS OF DEATH AND IMMORTALITY

Abstract.
The author analyzes the theory of Eros and Thanatos, which became the key one in late Freud’s psychoanalytic conception, and the metaphysics of birth in V. V. Rozanov’s doctrine, describes the basic conceptions of these two doctrines, including historical-philosophical context, reveals their similarities and differences, and studies the genesis and main content of the notions of Eros, Thanatos, the metaphysics of sex and birth.
