Abstract. The author reveals the model of forming students’ social-cultural values ​​when teaching culturology, which focuses on the regional component, by the example of the study of individual educational topics suggests various forms of lessons, describes the reasons hindering the development of the personality’s axiological foundations and reveals the circumstances, under which the solution to the problems of axiological character is possible.
