Abstract.
The article is devoted to the research of property exchange practice in the organization of the Athenian naval fleet in the V
th-IV
th centuries BC. The characteristic features of antidosis mechanism and the dynamics of its application in the sphere of trierarchy are distinguished and described. The author comes to the conclusion that decline in trierarchy popularity in the IV
th century BC led to the growth of antidosis processes that often had a negative impact on the welfare of the fleet.
