CIVILIZATION DEFINITION THROUGH ITS ESSENTIAL ASPECTS

Abstract.
In the article by the materials of civilization classical definitions created in the West European thought of the XVIII-XX
th centuries the essence of this historical phenomenon is revealed. As a result the definition of civilization is given, which novelty is in complex approach to civilization phenomenon. In other words, civilization is the totality of such aspects of human being as written language, the use of specific work tools, class sociality, under which conditions both one class’ exploitation by other classes and mutual help among them are realized.
