A. I. MIKOYAN AND STALIN’S FACTION FORMATION IN POLITBURO

Abstract.
In the article the political confrontation of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks I. V. Stalin and other Lenin’s successors is considered, which followed the leader’s death. The process of A. I. Mikoyan’s active participation is presented in the elimination of the leaders of “left” opposition and “right-wing deviation”, and also the difficulties are considered, which Stalin had to encounter on his way to the peak of political Olympus. By the example of one of the members of Stalin’s “narrow leadership” it is shown that the future leader’s victory in the struggle for power of many years became possible to a large extent due to own faction formation in Politburo.
