Abstract.
In this article the history of developing the Arabian-alphabetical manuscript tradition in Bashkortostan is considered. The level of the historical-cultural heritage of Bashkortostan in the XVI
th – at the beginning of the XX
th century is shown according to the research results of Arabian-Alphabetical Manuscripts Fund of Rare Books Department of National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The fund sources are classified according to subject, quantitative and chronological characteristics, and the main problems of modern oriental studies in the Republic are described.
