Abstract.
The article presents the results of studying the phenomenon of congelation in the burial chambers of the Pazyryk culture in Gorny Altai conducted by the Altai-Belgian expedition. The researches purpose was to identify the group of factors that provide the appearance of congelation in burial chambers. The methods of identifying environment and burial space temperature dependence were approved. It was recorded that the temperature remained stable and negative in the burial chamber, which, together with the analysis of the necropolis planigraphy, allowed determining the factors of congelation genesis.
