Abstract.
Thanks to her own translations the author of the article for the first time introduces the fragments of foreign autobiographic and monographic literature dedicated to the great Polish pianist Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982) to the Russian readers. The paper supplies and specifies quite a number of culturally valuable facts, events and phenomena associated not only with the artistic life of the pianist, but also with his diversified surroundings (in particular, Sergei Diaghilev, Igor Stravinsky and many others). On the basis of the opinions of contemporaries and the analysis of sound recordings the article represents the author’s original experience of the musical interpretation of the Spanish branch of Arthur Rubinstein’s repertoire.
