Abstract.
The article is devoted to the cabinet sofa of A. S. Pushkin and a stylistically similar sofa from the furniture of the Winter Palace. For a long period of time the belonging of the sofa to the great poet was based only on the “pre-war” legend with reference to the academic secretary of the Hermitage Museum M. D. Filosofov. Art criticism and forensic medical investigations allowed confirming the legend and retracing the history of the item.
