Abstract.
The issues of sex and gender have always represented an essential part of any political ideology. However the statement of these problems varied depending on the degree of conservatism, hierarchical pattern, political orientation and economic program of each of these systems - over the entire range from “ultra-right” discourse to “ultra-left” one. In the article the author considers how classic left-wing discourse responds to these issues. The subject of this paper is the understanding by left-wing discourse of one of the most important issues of sex and gender - the problem of prostitution, its place in society, reasons, prerequisites and possible ways of solution.
