Abstract.
A marine agent (attache) played an important role in the activity of each of the world sea powers. The Russian Empire was not an exception. The marine agents of the Russian Imperial Fleet were official representatives of the Ministry of the Sea of Russia in foreign, usually leading maritime countries. The article by the example of the marine agent in France Captain II rank G. A. Yepanchin shows the contribution of the outstanding representatives of Russia to the protection of the interests of the Navy of the Fatherland.
