MICHEL FOUCAULT’S “DISCIPLINARY SPACES”: THEME OF PANOPTICISM IN MODERN SOCIAL COGNITION

Abstract.
The article deals with the phenomenon of panoptic space as a fundamental element of power-knowledge system in the conception of disciplinary power of the French philosopher Michel Foucault. The question of the topicality of this problem in the framework of the penal research of the Australian scientist Craig Minogue is raised. The author also studies the critical position of the French philosopher Jean Baudrillard regarding the phenomenon of panoptic space in the conditions of modern culture.
