Abstract.
In the article the worldview of afterlife of Origen as a representative of the eastern patristics is analyzed. In socio-ontological alternative “binarity - ternarity” the absence of the connection of his ideas of apocatastasis and the pre-existence of soul with the gnostic idea of reincarnation is ascertained. As opposed to gnostic ternary model the socio-binary, anti-reincarnation essence of Origen’s philosophy is determined. The notion of medial state, which is considered as a consequence of theological-philosophizing mind, is introduced.
