Abstract.
The article considers the most significant social-cultural foundations of ensemble performance. Musical ensemble is presented not only as a quintessence and sense-expression of the historic, social and cultural shifts of the era, but also as a concept that promotes the most efficient search for solutions to the most pressing issues of the era. The author analyzes the specific character of individual and joint in ensemble performance as a necessary task of identifying the artistic integrity of music composition.
