Abstract.
The article analyzes the philosophy of the Russian thinker of the second half of the XVIII century I. T. Pososhkov. The paper examines his conceptions on the universe, attitude to Copernicus’s heliocentric system, speculations on the spiritual essence of the human being, the correlation of spiritual and material in art. The author focuses on the problems connected with Pososhkov’s criticism of the moral foundations and values of the epoch, thoughts on the necessity to develop education. Pososhkov’s life is presented in interaction with his philosophical formation.
